I'm wondering if you have found out what kind of snake you found, the one with the funny marking on its head.
It looks like a Timber Rattler a lot. I've never seen one that small before, so I don't know if one is born with a rattle or not, but the coloration and markings are very simalar. The marking on the head has me baffled though. Timber Rattlers don't have a mark like that or at least not the ones I've seen
